Scientific Annals of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi accepting manuscripts for 60th volume

Scheduled for publishing in June and December

The Journal, founded in 1954, is published under the aegis of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, the oldest higher education institution in Romania, a place of excellence and innovation in education and research starting with 1860. Since 2008, the journal increased its international visibility, publishing over 100 articles of authors from over 25 countries from four continents. In 2012, we signed an agreement with Versita (a branch of De Gruyter, the 3rd third-biggest international Open Access publisher) to further increase its visibility and quality.

The journal is indexed by EBSCO and EconLit (The American Economic Association’s electronic bibliography), is fully available at the RePec (Research Papers in Economics – IDEAS, Econpapers, Socionet), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library) and Scirus. Beginning with 2011, it is under evaluation by Scopus.
It is also included in Cabell's Directories of Publishing Opportunities, ECONIS (Online Catalogue of the ZBW - German National Library of Economics), ICAAP (International Consortium for Advancement of Academic Publication), Electronic Journals Library, The Knowledge Base Social Sciences in Eastern Europe, Scientific Commons, The ZDB, Intute: Social Science (SOSIG - Social Science Information Gateway), New Jour, GESIS SocioGuide, Genamics Journalseek, ACNP (Catalogo Italiano dei Periodici), Google Scholar, IndexCopernicus and ResearchGate.

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting recent developments in their field. The paper must be an original unpublished work, written in English which is not currently under review by other journals. There are no submission or publication costs for authors.

Manuscripts should follow the format style of the journal. The papers should not exceed 30 pages including figures and references. Detailed background information on the submission of papers and reviews can be found on the SAAIC website ( All papers should only be submitted electronically, via our website (, which offers a fully online manuscript submission and tracking system. After completing the application process, author(s) could track and check the latest situation of the article over the system quite easily.

Submitted manuscripts will receive an initial screening from the editorial board before entering the double-blind review process. The SAAIC tries to maintain a rapid electronic submission, review and publication process. On average, the double-blind review process lasts 3 - 4 weeks.

Accepted papers will be available on the journal website soon after acceptance, in a special section, Early Bird. These are papers that have been copyedited and typeset but not yet paginated for inclusion in the next issue of the journal. This “advance access” system enables us to publish papers online well ahead of their appearance in the printed journal (twice a year). It also allows authors to obtain citations earlier, due to the use of 'Digital Object Identifier' (DOI), an automatically generated unique identifier for intellectual property in the digital environment. DOIs facilitate online searches for particular papers.
